Social Media Guide

Goal: Promote our program on a daily basis through a variety of mediums by posting and sharing.

Thoughts on Social Media Promotions:

Slow down and remember to check your spelling before posting!

Post nothing negative and stay away from controversy

Show self restraint if someone is trying to antagonize

Don’t use sarcasm. We can never assume someone understands a joke

Include game context in posts as much as possible – score, time, etc.

Less is often more – Don’t have to use every available character

Use the location bar as much as possible to help with the search functions

Promote our accounts in the bios of each account

Log-In Info—-We need to keep a consistent log-in through all accounts

Email:TBD

Password: TBD

What mediums will we use?

We currently use Instagram and we will add Twitter. We also have the option of using Hootesuite, a social media management app, to schedule posts across multiple mediums at once.

General Guidelines and Aesthetic

We will not use hashtags or emojis

We want to keep any of our marketing clean and professional

Any edits with Canva or the like we want to stay within our color scheme

Any edits with Canva or the like we want to be sleek and not too busy; less is more

Any photos posted should be from an actual camera, ideally our photographer as opposed to phone

How do we collect information to post?

1. Document what we see on a daily basis – this is the biggest source

2. Plan posts for each medium on a weekly basis

3. Schedule out posts ahead of time on Hootsuite (ex. Set all happy holidays at once for the whole year)

4. Email all middle coaches in the program every Monday – ask for pictures, videos, results, etc.

“Hi coaches, please send me any athletes to feature, quotes about your team/players and stats (single game or season to date) to use for social media promotion. Thanks for your help. Let me know if you have any questions.”
