“Look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before.”
-Jacob Riis
“In complete stillness, a stone girl is dancing.”
-Seung Sahn
We know and will stress the fact that we are entitled to nothing in this life
We will grow the muscle that is averse to instant gratification
To have patience in the first place is to allow us to remain consistent and disciplined with the care we bring toward everything we do
To have patience is to allow for the amount of time necessary for growth to occur while tending our analogous gardens so growth does indeed occur
To be patient is to accept what is and by so doing, allows one to be fully present in all endeavors
