Offensive Philosophy

“To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.”
-Sun Tzu

Take what they give you: every defense in some way has a soft spot. We will find the path of least resistance

Zen-like patience. There still is no shot-clock. We want the best possible shot and will wait for it

The best possible shot is high percentage, uncontested, within player ability, through offensive rhythm

We do not take contested shots. We do not take contested shots. We do not take contested shots.

The best possible shot is most often created through player and ball movement and harmonious energy

We are looking to and are happy to share the basketball with our teammates: we are hunting for assists

We will be a selfless basketball team because we will foster selfless playstyle: we are not heliocentric

Offense is spacing. We want to stretch the defense as much as possible and exploit that space

We love transition opportunities: we advance the ball quickly for an easy or advantageous shot first

Easy, advantageous, or execute: through patient execution we will still get an advantageous look

To score is to have a multitude of different skills that we must know and practice habitually

There are many ways to score. We will be able to take any shot on the floor as we will have practiced it

We play off of our two foot base in nearly every scenario offensively. We will master that two foot base

Rebounds are opportunities. Opportunities multiply as they are seized: we crash O-boards & love defense
