The Head Coach’s Duty to the Staff

My responsibility to our staff is to set the standard for the program and hold us all to that standard in everything we do, no matter what.  I will do that through mentorship and accountability every day. I want to help prepare each coach to become the best versions of themselves in whatever ideal they are seeking.

1. Continue to foster a climate/culture that promotes excellence in all we do in ISD 

2. Participation in ISD Athletic Programs will involve as many students as possible while maintaining quality programs. 

3. Providing professional development that includes mentoring and professional growth for all athletic department personnel. 

4. Continue to develop our 7-12 alignment in team sports, ensuring vertical alignment between middle schools and high schools. 

5. Play everyone on all sub varsity levels that is eligible and in good standing. 

6. Develop and maintain a complete and comprehensive off-season program. 

7. Have all programs represented with class, character, and dignity. 

8. Demonstrate that each of our athletic teams is well coached, highly disciplined, and very well organized. 

9. Establish a district wide bond of loyalty and pride that reflects the principles, integrity and attitude of ISD

Elementary Objectives

Encourage involvement

Develop fundamental skills

Learn very basic offense and defensive principles

Attend organized youth camps

Begin to develop relationships with varsity staff, players, and coaches with parents

Middle School Objectives

Continued development of fundamental skills

Learn basic offense and defensive principles

Learn basics of Motion Offense

Encourage summer participation

Consistency with disciplinary guidelines and expectations

Continue to develop relationships with varsity staff, players, and coaches with parents

Get top 10-12 players involved in our AAU program

Initiate Youth Skill Camps

High School Objectives

Begin counseling players about their future

Mastery of staple offenses and presses

Mastery of defensive rotations

Continued consistency with disciplinary guidelines and expectations

Develop vision for what a players’ end product should look like

Advancement in developing relationships with varsity staff, players and coaches with parents
